KS3 assessment
![]()
The assessment grid is designed to allow teachers to build up a detailed profile of each Geography pupil at KS3.
It provides a simple method of measuring attainment and progress. Using a baseline assessment such as the one below, pupils are placed on the assessment grid according to their capabilities in each of the six 'Strands'. For reporting purposes, the strands can be averaged to report a numerical value. |

This assessment grid is now part of Scholastic's assessment and progress system called STEPS (Strategic Targets for Educational Progress and Success), which received a national accolade in 2018 as an Education Resources Awards winner.
A rigorous, fully editable Geography baseline assessment test.
This baseline assessment examines the core parts of the new National Curriculum for Geography: locational knowledge, place, physical processes, human processes, geographical skills and fieldwork & enquiry. Available now in Top Resources. |
